Discussion 39: What would you do?

Job Club Heart of Texas | 35 comments

The foundation stones for a balanced success are honesty, character, integrity, faith, love and loyalty.

-Zig Ziglar

There are moments in our lives where we have to make choices. These choices not only define who we are, but what we believe in. Though not every choice is cut in stone, a lot of our decisions tell us a lot about ourselves if we pay attention to them. Below are some what would you do scenarios. Read them and tell us what you would do.

If a classmate asked you for the answer to a question during an exam while the teacher was not looking, what would you do?

If the whole world were listening, what would you say?

If one song were to describe your life, what song would it be?

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

If you didn’t have enough money to get the bus home what would you do?

What would you do if you found the wallet of your next door neighbor who you hated?

If the whole world was listening, what would you say?

I would say slow down(turn off the phones and tv), invest time, energy and love into your children and family. They will be your greatest legacy and gift to this world.

No little thing you do for someone else goes unnoticed–IT may seem insignificant to you, but it could be the very thing that brings light into some else’s day!

    1) I would have to say “I’m sorry, No.”
    2) Jesus died for our sins so we may have eternal life. Let’s abide by his grace and the commandments he passed down in order to deserve that life with Him.
    3) I never really thought about a song that describes my life, only songs that pertained to what I was going thru at the time. Two of my favorites, “I Can Only Imagine and Next to Heaven.”
    4) My anxiety issues.
    5) Walk if within a reasonable distance or call a family member.

If a classmate asked you for the answer to a question during an exam while the teacher was not looking, what would you do? I would keep on focusing on my exam- I take care of my business- they need to as well.

If the whole world were listening, what would you say? Treat others as you would like to be treated.

If one song were to describe your life, what song would it be? Not really sure about this one- there are too many different ones that would fit different times of my life.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? I would be less afraid to try new things- I feel that I have missed out on a lot of things due to being shy and afraid to put myself out there.

If you didn’t have enough money to get the bus home what would you do? Call friend/family to see if I could get some help.

What would you do if you found the wallet of your next door neighbor who you hated? I would be the better person and return it- if I would have lost mine, I would like to know that others around me would return it to me whether they liked me or not- it’s just the right thing to do.

    1. I would say you are my friend, but the answer is no and it is because you are my friend. I have had this happen before.

    2. We could all benefit from going back to living the “Golden Rule”-but I would extend it even further, not only should we treat others as we would want to be treated, but a doctoral social worker out of the University of Houston, Brene Brown has stated in her book “I Thought it Was Just Me (but it isn’t),” talked about our “otherness.” She described how we are each others “other.” She talked about how we are only (and forgive me because I don’t have her book in front of me right now) one divorce, one drug-addiction, one affair, one (fill in your own blank here) from being someone else’s other. Life is too short for us to sit around judging one another, throwing stones, seriously, in the grand scheme of things, what really matters at the end of the day?

    3. “It is Well With My Soul!”

    4. Long-Lasting Confidence. I catch glimpses of it especially after a compliment or two on my for instance professional abilities or something, but after having been out of full time employment for as long as I have been it did a number on my self-esteem especially in the realm of professional confidence.

    5. Either walk or call a friend for a ride.

    6. I would put it in a plastic bag and put it on their doorstep, ring the doorbell, and walk away…if there had been a previous confrontation, just so there would not be a new one.

Sorry my post was so late this week. I have been orienting for my new job this week in addition to finishing my last day with my old job tonight. It was hard doing termination sessions with all of my clients this week. I will be doing Mobile Assessment for Hickory Trails Hospital, beginning tonight (although I’ve been orienting since 4/3/13). It is essentially like being on call for 12 hour shifts to be called out when an assessment is needed here in the southern area (Corsicana/Waxahachie/Ennis). I have four shifts a week. The pay is a lot better than what I was making (as long as there are a few assessments a week.

    1. Say no and explain after the class that it is
unethical to cheat an offer to help.

    2. We need to get back to God and focusing on working
working together, helping each other and forgiveness
instead of turning our heads and just looking out
    Number !.

    3. Amazing Grace. I function and walk in it every day.

    4. Call a family member, ask a colleague and offer to
pay for the gas, or walk.

    5. I don’t hate anyone. I might not like their actions
or personality, but I don’t hate. I would got to
the neighbor ang politely give the wallet back to
them. You can catch more flies with honey than

I would do the right thing. Making choices helps to build our life, and future.
I read : “Sometimes we think that the big choices, life’s “decisions”, are the most important. In fact it’s the little things we do every day that make the difference over the long term — things as simple as choosing what to work on today or how we will treat ourselves and others”
