Job Club Heart of Texas, Job Search | 65 comments

Attention All Subscribers:

We are pleased to announce that Washington has passed the unemployment extension which should go through December 2013. However, if you have been listening to the news, you will take note that the news media is alluding to the fact that there could be a glitch coming in about 60 to 90 days in the form of budget cuts. They are hinting that entitlements will be cut. We don’t know what to make of this, but we will certainly keep you updated with everything we discover.

In saying that, we would like to suggest that we up your job search activities. Let’s work on resumes, job search strategies, and interviewing techniques as the Heart of Texas Workforce Solutions and WPMG (CampusJobXpress.com) are increasing efforts to create Job Fairs and Job Events.

The date for the Food Industry Job Fair is scheduled for Thursday, January 24th at the Workforce Center at 1416 South New Road in Room 272 from 9:00am to 12:00pm. We also have plans for another Job Fair in February. This Job Fair will be a full blown Job Fair with several employers and it is scheduled for February 13th between 10:00am and 2:00pm.

We have a new opportunity at hand. If you would like to contribute your writing of an article to CampusJobXpress.com, we can get your name out there in writing. We are looking for volunteer writers. As a volunteer writer, you would submit articles to CampusJobXpress.com pertaining to careers, job searches, events, news, etc.

If you are interested, please begin writing your articles and send us your final product to info@campusjobxpress.com. Whether or not you plan to submit an article, tell us your thoughts. What topics would you like to read about on CampusJobXpress.com?

Also, CampusJobXpress.com would like to hear how you feel about us. Submit a comment about our site, services or any of the features and tell us what you think. Submit these to info@campujobxpress.com. Your feedback is always appreciated and it will assist us in improving our services to you.

Stay in touch and keep your comments coming!

Good morning, Susan Wade here. I actually received a letter yesterday from TWC informing me of the passage of the bill, and instructing me to apply for EUC benefits as I had benefits remaining on my claim when the previous funding expired 12-29-12. Good news all around, even if it is only temporary. Hopefully, everyone is receiving similar notification. Thank you for keeping us informed of all the changes

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE. THANK YOU FOR THE UPDATES AND INFORMATION. MAYBE THIS WILL HELP EVERYONE:
    Earl Nightingale’s Secret to Success

The legendary Earl Nightingale spent 17 years on a quest to answer one question: What makes the difference? He wanted to discover why some people are financially well off while others are poor.

His mother, Gladys Nightingale, encouraged him to read. “Knowledge is everything; everything you want to know has been written down by someone,” she told him. In 1950, at the age of 29, he found the answer he was seeking in Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich. It was six simple words: We become what we think about.

To become what you think about, take Nightingale’s 30-day test. It could change your life:

Write on a card what you want more than anything. Make sure it is a single goal and it is clearly defined.
Don’t show it to anyone, but carry it with you so you can look at it several times a day.
Think about it in a cheerful, relaxed and positive way each morning when you wake up.
Look at it before you go to bed at night. As you look at it, remember you must become what you think about.
Now comes the difficult part: Stop thinking about what you fear. Each time a fearful or negative thought comes into your consciousness, replace it with a mental picture of your positive and worthwhile goal.
Each day of this 30-day test, do more than you have to do.
Take control of your mind, knowing your returns will be in direct proportion to what you give.
Read more about Earl Nightingale on SUCCESS.com.

MAKE 2013 YOUR YEAR TO SHINE, GOOD LUCK EVERYONE.
